Miracle's Page |
| This little girl was named Miracle the day
she was born. She weighed 1 1/4 ounces at birth. Puppies born at this
weight just don't live. Her twin sister only lived two hours. It was touch
and go for a couple of days. She was too small to fight her large brothers
for a place to nurse. I spent two weeks placing her on her mother every
two hours, 24 hours a day and she got stronger every day. At four weeks
she was finally big enough that I took her to the vet for her first check
up and she passed with flying colors. On January 3, 2008 she was sold to a
very nice couple in Houston Texas. That day we found out because of a soft
spot on her head, she could get water on the brain. Even with this
possibility the people that bought her wanted to keep her. Against our
better judgment, we agreed, with the stipulation that she come home if she
does come down with hydrocephalus. I will continue with her page as long
as I get information and photo's from her new owner. We love this little
girl and pray that she will be alright. Click on photo's for larger view |

The death of an Angel
M'ie's little life was cut short by a golden retriever Saturday May 24, 2008. She was left for the weekend with a family with the large dog. The big dog snapped at her and that ended her life. We are so sad. I have cried until I can't cry anymore. This is why I won't send my babies to a home with large dogs. People think their big dog won't hurt the smaller Pom, but it's natural for the bigger dog to do this. I can't believe that the little girl that fought so hard to live, died this horrible death, but until people learn that you can't mix large dogs with small ones, more will die. All it takes is a split second, and your little ball of fur will be no more. This will be a Memorial Day weekend that I will remember the rest of my life. I feel so sorry for Donna and Dr. Mahoney. I know Miracle was in the right home because Donna loved this little girl as much as I did, there were just some bad judgments in her protection. I turned down so many offers on her because I wanted her to have a good life, and I know she did, what little life she had. Please, please, please, let Miracle's death be a lesson, don't mix small and large dogs, if not for the sake of M'ie, at least for the life of your Pomeranian. She was a little Angel on earth. She is now playing with God. Goodbye my baby. I will see you soon.
| Miracle's
sister Chloe Murdered by speeding neighbor Chloe, who has always loved to run and chase birds, squirrels and whatever else she could chase, has never been made to be on a leash in our front yard. Nor has she ever learned to listen and obey when she was on a mission. Ron and Chloe had their routine, since he usually got home before me. They would go outside to potty and get the mail, then come in for a nap followed by playtime and wrestling on the bed. SHE LOVED THAT MAN AND WOULD NOT GET OUT OF HIS SIGHT IF HE WAS HOME!!! On Thursday, June 12th, he had done just that. Ron had gotten home and they had done the potty and had taken a nap/followed by their playtime. On his way back up to the den, he let her out one more time. She darted out the door, still daylight, he was following her out, because we always went out with her so she wouldn't go too far...he closed the door behind him and stepped out to see her dart across the drive next to us, towards the trees to chase her birds, when a car coming to the house next door came speeding down the road across the culdesac and into the drive and collided with her killing her instantly right in front of him. This is a terrible thing. Loosing two of your babies in two weeks to revolting deaths like these. The idiot driving the car is just lucky it wasn't a child that run out in front of him. If it were, he would be where he belongs, behind bars. The only thing to help us live over these tragedies, is knowing that Chloe and Miracle are playing together again at the Lord's feet.

| Below is a letter sent to me by the owner of M'ie and Chloe. She asked that I post it on Miracle's page. Here it is in it's entirety. |
|
I asked Charles if I could
share a bit on Miracle/M'ie's page AND if he would write exactly what I
share with you, so I thank him for this opportunity and I also thank
each of you who have visited this page for the prayers and interest you
have shown for my special little girl, M'ie and her wonderful sister
Chloe. For anyone who is curious about how M'ie got her name, the M is
for Miracle and we just added the 'ie. It was a "cute" way of staying
with the name "Miracle", since she was truly a Miracle. The AKC name is
Moonie's Miracle Angel, as Moonie is her birth dad and Angel is her
birth mom.
I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to
be part of M'ie's life. I fell in love with her on the web page, just
like many of you. I have spent a lot of time browsing the web, looking
at all the sweet little ones available, and I will tell you, you can
find the perfect baby if you know what to look for. It is not
how attractive the site is...it is how attractive the breeder is. What
attracted me to M'ie, was the love that her "Daddy" had for her. She
was very obviously accustomed to being nurtured, which is what helped
her through the first months, and I was very blessed to have had the
opportunity to continue to nurture her.
The day I saw her in person, and found that she
had the potential problem with the open font, I also had the opportunity
to see the beauty in her breeder (and his wife) in person. The price on
these tiny babies is not a small price, but the price was not the issue
that day. The issue was what was best for Miracle/M'ie. Their
preference was to take her back home, love her and to do whatever was
needed to save her from any potential consequences to the open font
issue. Throughout the following week, Charles and I shed many, many,
many....tears over that little girl. We shared daily via email and some
things warranted a phone call to share the funny things and the advances
she made. It adds so much joy sharing experiences, and we shared
a common bond, loving this little girl. That meant so much to me, to
know that if he loved her this much after her being away for such a
length of time, how much love does he give his babies while they are
with him?! Had I known the amount of tears that were to come, just over
4 months later, she would have never left his care. Unfortunately, no
matter how much you love them and how hard you try to give them the very
best life possible, there are so many threats out there to protect them
against. I would have done anything possible to provide for her and
keep her safe, including any medical care she would ever need (as would
he), even knowing the potential for complications from the open font.
My little Chloe was overjoyed with her new buddy.
Chloe was a Papa's girl from day one, but with M'ie around, she was
wherever M'ie was. That was a major compliment for M'ie. Before,
nothing could drag her from her Papa.
Memorial weekend, we went out of town for what
turned into a Memorial weekend I will never forget. I generally had a
sitter come to my home, but she was not available. I allowed my babies
to stay with someone who I felt was a competent caretaker, and I had no
reason to think there was any threat to their safety. Despite the
tragedy, I know this was an accident, and she like many others
(including myself) never realized the danger of what turned out to be
the worst nightmare/tragedy we could have ever imagined. Chloe and M'ie
had been around larger dogs and played with several golden retrievers on
a regular basis. My belief, like most other dog owners, was that only
"mean, aggressive" large dogs were a threat. What a horrible way to
find out differently?!?!?! The dog that attacked My Precious Baby
M'ie had been a family pet who lived with a medium size Pomeranian for
many years and had never been aggressive toward another person or
animal. IT HAPPENS BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, EVEN IF IT IS THE FIRST SIGN OF
AGGRESSION!!!!!!!!!
Two weeks later, our Chloe, who was devastated by
the loss of her best friend (yes, I have to admit, I think she loved
M'ie more than her #1 Papa and myself, who was definitely second fiddle
to Papa), was out doing what she loved to do....running and playing in
the front yard, chasing a bird, living on a cul-de-sac, amongst
neighbors who knew her. Her Papa was just a few feet away from her as
she sped across the drive. A visitor to our neighbor came speeding down
the street and into the drive without regard to animals or children.
Not having a back yard, and our front yard being in a cul-de-sac, we
felt it was a safe place and she really enjoyed running and playing,
chasing birds and squirrels and even befriended a squirrel who played
with her, just above her reach jumping from tree to tree. I debated with
myself about putting her on a leash, and periodically leashed her to
regain control. Hindsight tells me I should have never let her
experience the freedom of going out without a leash. The could have,
would have, should haves that come in hindsight and are learned through
these tragic experiences.
Chloe and M'ie were meant to be together. They
were the perfect match. M'ie, despite her size was the boss, alpha to
the max!!. Chloe was a softy and the motherly one. She let her bite
her, fight her and win in tug-a -war generally. Wherever M'ie was,
Chloe was not far behind. From day one, she kept watch over her little
sister. The picture of her watching her in the playpen was from the
first nap she ever took in our home. Chloe was devastated by the loss
of M'ie. People said she would forget in a matter of a few days. It
didn't happen. She continued to grieve the loss and I believe they are
very happy in pet heaven, picking up where they left off.
I now have a new little boy, who was suppose to be
a buddy for Chloe, in attempt to help her with her grieving (and myself
as well). Chloe, however, went to be with M'ie in heaven two days
before she got to meet her new buddy. I will send a photo for Charles
to post of Chewbacca (Chewie), but he will never, never, ever be a
replacement for my girls. I will give him all the love he will ever
need and give it my all to keep him safe, but my little girls will live
in my heart forever. Not a day (or minute) goes by, without thoughts of
my wonderful, most precious little girls. If Chewie ever gets to get a
buddy, "she" will be produced by the best breeder I have ever known,
coming to me pre-loved and pre-spoilt by the ones who gave my M'ie the
most wonderful first 4 months of her life! Had he had any available,
what was meant to be Chloe's buddy would have most definitely come from
M'ie's first family. That is not to say there are not several great
breeders out there, but I will guarantee you, you will not find another
one like Charles!!!
I pray that the tragedies we experienced will help
to inform people of the dangers that we don't realize until it is too
late. Tragedies that can affect our most precious pet babies as well as
our children, in a matter of seconds.
Thank you again for all of your thoughts and
prayers. Please share this with anyone who will listen.
God's Love and mine,
Donna (and Ron)
